Fig. 23.3 represents the display on an oscilloscope when the vertical amplifier is set to 1 V/cm and the time base to 1 ms/cm. The r.m.s. voltage and frequency of the waveform will be respectively

  1. V, 250Hz
  2. 2V, 250Hz
  3. 2V, 1kHz
  4. 2V, 1kHz

The answer is :- 1 Period of waveform = 4 x 1 ms = 4ms, thus Frequency = 250Hz. Peak voltage = 2V, thus Vrms =  V
